Our Wedding

Our story begins where all great love stories begin: Online. We both swiped right on the dating app Hinge in the summer of 2019. After we matched, witty banter ensued for over a week, with each trying to impress the other with our knowledge and love of classical music, wine, and NYC. We went on our first date on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Dante's in the West Village. Our second date took place at Gantry in Queens where we chatted for hours and watched seaplanes take off and land over and over again in the East River. Our third date included a combination of several things we love: jazz, hot dogs, and walking around the city late at night. Early on in the relationship, Sean had learned of my love of baseball and there began our tradition of summertime Mets games. The more time we spent together, the more time we wanted to spend together. It was in these early months that we made our way to Woodstock, NY. Neither of us had been to Woodstock, NY, but on our way to a friend's wedding in New Hampshire, we decided to make a stop. We immediately fell in love with the town-from the restaurants to the shops to the nature- Sean and I felt like we found home. We have fallen in love over and over again in Woodstock and have brought several friends and family members to our home away from home. It is in this place that has meant so much to our relationship that we have decided to bring all the people we love together and proclaim our love for one another. Sean and I have been through so much together- The pandemic, losing jobs, getting new jobs, auditions, moving, sick family members, new nieces and nephews, starting a business, traveling. We decided to celebrate our relationship and everything we have been through with a trip to Italy in May 2025. During this trip, Sean proposed in Rome. I, of course, said yes. We are both so grateful to have met the other and we cannot wait to celebrate our love with all of you in a place that has been a constant throughout our relationship.

We are so excited for you to experience Woodstock, NY! Below are several boutique hotels we have stayed at over the years that we are recommending to you all. There are, of course, other hotels as well as plenty of Airbnb's in the area, so please book whatever works best for you. A few things to note: The roads in Woodstock and the surrounding areas are windy and filled with deer at dusk. Please keep that in mind as you book your hotel and Airbnb, particularly for those who will be drinking. We have secured a block of rooms at the Emerson Resort &amp; Spa. Please see below for details. For those who book a hotel in Kingston (Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn, and Courtyard Marriott), we will have a shuttle running the night of the wedding so that guests do not need to drive to the wedding if they do not wish. Please see 'Transportation' for more details.

The Hampton Inn is located in Kingston, approximately 11 miles away and a 20-minute drive to downtown Woodstock. For the day of the wedding, we will have a shuttle running from one of the hotels in the area (Kingston) to the venue and back for those that are interested. If staying in Kingston, we highly recommend having a car so that it is easier to participate in all wedding activities. Please note: There is no room block or special rate for this hotel.

Hampton Inn Kingston

This beautiful hotel is located about 12 miles away in Mt. Tremper, NY, about a 20-minute drive from the Colony. This hotel includes several restaurants, shops, and a spa on location. It is also located down the road from one of our favorite spots- The Phoenicia Diner! Please be mindful when booking this hotel as it is located outside of town. Uber/Lyft is not always reliable in this area; therefore, you may want to book a car service to bring you to and from the wedding/carpool with other guests who may be staying at this location. We have secured a block of 27 lodge rooms for the weekend of September 19, 2026 (two night minimum). The rooms vary from deluxe rooms ($430 per night) to family suites ($700+ per night). If interested in securing a room, please call (845) 688-4141 or email (msmith@emersonresort.com)Marci Smith directly to make reservations. Online reservations are not available for this room block. Please note that guests have until 60 days prior to the wedding day (September 19, 2026) to reserve rooms.

This charming Inn is a 10-minute walk to downtown Woodstock where all the shops, restaurants, and our wedding venue (Colony Woodstock) is located. This Inn includes standard rooms, suites, as well as cottages. You can begin booking this hotel beginning March 2026. The Woodstock Inn on the Millstream

Hotel Dylan is located just on the outskirts of town across from the Ashokan Reservoir. It's 3.9 miles away from downtown Woodstock- about an 8-minute drive. This boutique hotel offers several different room options including various suites and even a private house. Additionally, there is a restaurant on site as well as access to play at the private Woodstock Golf Club. Please note: There is no room block or special rate for this hotel.

Hotel Dylan

This 10-room boutique bed and breakfast is located in the heart of Woodstock. It is across the street from one of our favorite restaurants, Tinker Taco, and is a short 5-minute walk to the wedding venue. A great option for those who want to be able to easily walk to all the wedding festivities. Please note: We do not have a room block or a special rate for this hotel.

Twin Gables of Woodstock

The Herwood Inn is a quaint inn with only four suites. Located on Tinker Street, and just a short 8-minute walk to the venue, this is another great option for those that want to say in town and walk to all the local shops and restaurants. Please note: We do not have any room blocks or special rates for this hotel.

The Woodstock Way Hotel is located in the heart of Woodstock. This is the closest thing to a luxury hotel you will get in Woodstock. Located off of Tinker Street (all the shops/restaurants) on Waterfall Way, this secluded hotel feels like you are in the heart of nature while only being a 5-minute walk to the wedding venue. Truly a magical location! Please note: We do not have a room block or special rates for this hotel.

Transportation from Kingston

For those guests who stay in Kingston (the Holiday Inn Express, the Hampton Inn, and the Courtyard by Marriott), we will have a shuttle running from both the Holiday Inn Express (1835 Ulster Ave, Lake Katrine, NY 12449, USA) as well as the Hampton Inn (1307 Ulster Ave, Kingston, NY 12401, USA). Please note that the Courtyard by Marriott is located next to the Hampton Inn. The shuttles will leave Saturday, September 19th around 4:15pm from each hotel (Holiday Inn Express and the Hampton Inn) and will bring you to Colony Woodstock for the wedding and ceremony. The shuttles will then make two trips from Colony to the hotels. The first trip will be at around 10pm and the final trip will be around midnight. Please refer back to this website for more details as the wedding day gets closer! Please note- If able, please let Sean and I know that you will be staying at one of these hotels and utilizing the shuttle services. That will help with the headcount for the buses. If we find that very few individuals are staying at the Kingston hotels, we may need to cancel shuttle services.

We will never forget the first time we drove down Tinker Street and saw all the beautiful shops and restaurants Woodstock had to offer. Each time we visit, we eat lunch at Tinker Taco, buy a candle at Candlestock (incredible name), and get a pizza from Catskill Mountain Pizza Co to bring back to our hotel for dinner. Below is a sampling of stores and restaurants we have been to throughout the years that we adore. Please spend some time eating and shopping locally. Additionally, we've listed several activities for those who want to stretch their legs and see what the Catskills have to offer! There are several trails, nature preserves, and local art galleries/venues that we are recommending. This is by no means an exhaustive list but is a simple list of some of our favorite places to visit when we are in town.

Bearsville Theater is a gorgeous theater located down the street from Woodstock. Not only are the location and venue beautiful, but the shows are fantastic. As an added bonus, the theater shares the grounds with a cantina and a tavern.

Opus 40 is a sculpture park located right outside of Woodstock. It is a gorgeous place to walk around, take in nature, and take in some beautiful art.

If you are looking to do some hiking, this is where we recommend you go. There are several trails on Overlook Mountain, one of which takes you to the top of the mountain as well as flatter trails including a trail that leads you to meadow.

Where to Eat & Drink

Restaurants

If you are looking for a great slice of pizza, this is the place to go! As most of you know, we cannot eat dairy. That is not a problem for Catskill Mountain Pizza. They make one of the best tomato pies we have ever had. If you want to enjoy a cozy night in, we recommend ordering a pizza for pick up and enjoying it in the comfort of your cabin/hotel room.

If you're craving a nice glass of wine and a bowl of pasta, this is the place for you. Though not necessarily walkable distance from the shops and other restaurants Woodstock has to offer, Cucina is located just down the street.

If you want to take a drive up to Hunter, then you will want to stop by Hunter Mountain Brewery for some of their delicious Indian food as well as their local beers.

This is the closest thing to a diner in Woodstock. They have vegan options, specialty coffees, and seasonal goodies. One of our favorite places to grab breakfast.

"The Moon" as we call it is a great place to sit outside, enjoy some food, and take a look at Overlook Mountain. They have live music most nights and it turns into quite the dance party. You may just catch us dancing there!

Though not located in Woodstock, if you are willing to drive 15-20 minutes, you will get to enjoy one of the best diners we have ever been to. With views of the mountains, this is a fantastic place to enjoy a cup of coffee, some pancakes, and some good company.

Phoenicia Diner

The PUB is a great place to sit and watch the world go by in Woodstock! Some of our favorite dishes are the pita plate and the lemon chicken soup.

We have watched this store transform from local diner to Peruvian restaurant to what it is today, a charming cocktail bar. The owner, Mark, is often tending bar and has made us some of the best cocktails we've ever had, including Kate's favorite cocktail: a blood &amp; sand.

Small Talk

This is one of our favorite places to eat in Woodstock, located next to Tannery Brook, it's a fantastic location to enjoy the beautiful Woodstock weather while eating a taco and drinking a margarita. The owners also have several dogs that wander around looking for a few tacos to eat. They are friendly and love to be pet!

A fantastic spot for lunch or a casual dinner. Dine in or take out, we have never been disappointed with the food at Yum Yum.

We stumbled upon this chocolatier during the pandemic and make it a place we stop every trip. The truffles are incredible and the perfect sweet treat at the end of the day.

Home Goods

Of course, one of our favorite shops is a candle store. Every trip, we pick up a several boxes of matches as well as a new candle to add to our collection. Hopefully they carry Peaches &amp; Park sometime soon!

Candlestock

A carefully curated home goods and clothing store filled with dinnerware, vases, jewelry, napkins, sweaters, etc. If you are looking to add a unique piece to your home or wardrobe, this is the place to go.

Casa Ziki

One of my (Kate's) favorites stores in Woodstock. It's filled with home goods, candles, dishes, towels, etc. The perfect place to stroll around.

Gilded Carriage

This may be one of our favorite stores in Woodstock. The owner is not only a jewelry designer but also grew up in Queens! She has curated a fantastic selection of gifts and home goods

Timbuktu

A beautiful windchime store. Even if you are not in the market for a windchime, we recommend taking a walk through and testing out the various chimes. So peaceful!

Topka

This is an art gallery that has a fantastic gift shop filled with goods created by local artisans. We actually purchased our coffee mugs from this shop a few years ago. They were created by Marilyn Price, a, 80+ year old potter in the Hudson Valley. We highly recommend stopping by and seeing the local art for sale.

Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild

This is one of our favorite stores in all of Woodstock. We've purchased sunglasses, incense, clothing, jewelry- everything. And the owner is one of the sweetest guys in town. Please stop by and check them out!

Bookstores

Mirabai is a serene, new age bookstore that has become one of our favorite spots to browse. They sell crystals, tarot cards, planners, books, and even has a children's section. Please stop by if you're looking for a moment of calm.
